Reindeer were not the only animals that were useful to the Sápmi.  Many communities depended more on fish than on reindeer.  The coastal Sámi kept farms for saltwater fish such as herring, cod, and haddock.  Further inland families waited for spawning trout and salmon.  Salmon are an especially important part of the Sámi diet.

This handwoven, Sámi inspired bracelet features a flowing weave made from 10% sterling silver and pewter coils, hand stitched onto reindeer leather.
